Depending on the assembly, faults can involve LED drivers, internal modules, cooling or power supply, wiring or the lamp assembly. “Bulb replacement” is not a universal description for an LED headlight fault.
Adaptive or Matrix-equipped systems
Where fitted, beam control can also depend on control modules, leveling sensors, steering/vehicle data, coding, basic settings or calibration. We do not assume every Audi has the same adaptive-light hardware.

Fogging, condensation and cracked lenses need inspection before replacement
Outer oxidation
Surface haze or yellowing can sometimes be improved by controlled restoration when the lens is structurally sound. The finish should be protected afterward, but restoration cannot correct internal optical or electrical damage.
Internal condensation
Light temporary misting and persistent water entry are not the same issue. Persistent moisture calls for inspection of vents, seals, housing cracks, rear covers and prior repairs before modules are damaged.
Cracked housing or lens
Repairability depends on damage location, material, sealing requirements and whether a safe, durable repair can be made. Some assemblies are not designed for separate lens service.
Internal optical damage
Burned reflectors, damaged projectors or internal LED/optical faults may make assembly replacement more practical than cosmetic restoration.
How we narrow down a headlight fault
Beam aim should be verified after relevant headlight work
Replacing or disturbing a headlight assembly, leveling component or suspension-related input can affect beam position. Where the exact system requires it, mechanical aim, basic settings or calibration should be completed after repair. A lamp that switches on is not automatically aimed correctly.
Vertical aim warning
The cause can be inside the lamp, a leveling motor, ride-height sensor, linkage, wiring, control module or setup issue. Diagnosis should identify the failed part instead of defaulting to a complete lamp.
Adaptive-light warning
Fault codes and live data are interpreted alongside the fitted system. Steering input, ride height, control modules and headlight actuators can all be relevant depending on generation.
Headlight parts are matched to the exact vehicle
Genuine Audi parts are normally used. OEM-supplier or aftermarket alternatives may be discussed when requested and when compatibility, suitability and availability have been checked. A headlight that looks similar can differ by side, market, light technology, adaptive functions, modules, connectors and coding requirements.
Can you drive with a headlight fault?
If required forward lighting is not functioning, beam aim is unsafe, the lamp is loose after an impact, or visibility is inadequate for the conditions, do not continue normal night driving. Arrange repair before driving conditions require the failed function. A warning with otherwise functioning lights can still require diagnosis, but urgency depends on the affected function and actual visibility.
